The Offload Project was established out of a love of people, a love of Notts and a growing frustration at the lack of affordable and accessible long term mental health support. Mental health care should not be a luxury, but many (if not most) people simply cannot afford £160+ a month for private therapy. And given that one in eight people struggle with their mental health, this just didn’t seem right.
Offload has two main gigs - mental health support and training. The first is a low cost, long term counselling and psychotherapy service exclusively for residents of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We offer individual counselling and psychotherapy either online or face to face at a self selecting fee of £10-£30 per session. Our counsellors are mostly here on placement as they work their way through various counselling training programmes ranging from diplomas to masters degrees. All counsellors have passed a fit to practice assessment and have regular check ins with a clinical supervisor to ensure they're offering you the best possible support. We also offer group support and mental health courses periodically throughout the year. Our training workshops, are available internationally to any team or organisation who recognise that an unhappy team is an inefficient team. You can find out more about each branch of The Offload Project under the 'How We Can Help' tab in the top menu bar.
The Offload Project is a community interest company. This means we are a non profit - so all of the money we make from therapy fees, workshop commissions, donations and grant funding gets funnelled back into our community. In practice, right now this means paying for therapy rooms so people have the option of face to face support instead of just online, engaging in outreach work in communities that statistically don't seek out mental health support, developing our offer and providing practical resources to help our clients manage their mental health.
We have loads of big ideas here at Offload, so watch this space!
